1967 L88 Corvette



The 1967 L88 Corvette was one of the best examples of the only true American sports car, we have the viper now that is considered an American sports car, but the Dodge viper will never build up a history like the 1967 L88 Corvette did, some cars are just so special, that even god could not do a better job in building them, and the L88 corvette is one of those cars, not only is it one of our favorite cars, but it has built up a history that even the europeans fear, due to the simple fact that it smoled their cars of the same time era, it took first and second places in the 1966 24 hours of daytona race against such competitors as Porsche, Jaguar, well you get the idea it beat them all.




The L88 Corvette came with a ground pounding 427 CID engine that was modestly rated at 435 horsepower, but in accuallity it making closer to 700 hp, and this was back in the 1960's, It had a four speed muncie M22 rockcrusher transmission, and the tramission got this name because they tested it by dropping diamonds in to the gear box, and the M22 crushed them to dust.

The aluminum hi-rise intake manifold cam topped with a, 850 CFM holley double pumper four berral carburetor, it meant business, it could handle all Chevrolet could throw at it, and then some, it surpased all of their expectations, and took the comapny to a whole ton of racing victories
